Browsing (PPC style)
One of the biggest pains of having a PPC at heart, is the Web Browsers, because with many other software, you could stuck with old versions, but on the web, an outdate version is both: a security hole on your system, a problem to navigate in some websites (that only support recent version of the browsers).
A nice post on the subject from Low End Mac (A site I will probably link again in the future since we write about similar issues) : The Future of Up-to-Date Browsers for PowerPC Macs. They recomend Camino, and I have been a long big fan of it (Since it provides Firefox browsing, with good Mac OS X integration).
And writing about Camino, one of the good thing of OpenSource projects: there are PowerPC optimized builds of Camino. Great news for PPC G4 Owners.
In the last weeks there has been a new release of Camino: Camino 2.0 is finally out. This are great news, because this new version is based on a more recent version of Gecko, so there are less problems in websites. There is also a PowerPC optimized version of it: G3 and G4 optimized versions of Camino
