TV on TV: Screenwipe
Usually the prospect of: we'll make a TV program where me make fun of other TV programs sucks. Here in Spain it usually leads to this kind of greatnes: SLQH: Se lo que hicisteis [For foreign readers: this is as bad as it seems from the videos you see. Mostly silly sense of humour, and plenty of sexist jokes about their sexy hosts. ¿Like italian TV? Yes, like Italian TV.]
There is an example of the opossite: Charlie Brooker's ScreenWipe on BBC4. This is a television review programme. And it's intelligent, funny, sarcastic and uncompromised. Amazing. This is an example:
If you have ever seen a BBC news report, this is great depiction of any of it. (And Charlie Brooker's is working for BBC4, so this is quite unusual: making fun of your own TV channel). This is another one, that shows better the radical this program could be:
After watching this, I would love that Spanish television would be half as good as Screenwipe is. (But not as bad as the average UK Television that Charlie Brooker critisizes in his program - hope not).
